Iconix:
The ICONIX range of greeting cards features portraits of the famous and the notorious. The portraits’ colourisation is then warped into mainly primary colours leaving essential facial features intact. The art form was pioneered by Andy Warhol in the late 1960s and has since been further developed by illustrators such as Roger Deane.
The selection of “icons” is based on the criterion that something other than their art of playing an instrument or acting in movies, say, was contributed to humanity by these individuals.
